Teaching

Besides all the research projects my utmost concern is the teaching and education part of my daily work. In my university I’m giving lectures in inorganic as well as bio-inorganic chemistry and as the dean of the graduate school of Excellence of the state Rhine-Palatinate I’m in a responsible position for the organized and well structured education of the PhD students. Furthermore, I initialised with interested colleagues several projects for both pupils and teachers which nowadays are well-established in Rhine-Palatinate and are exemplary for the whole country concerning the education and recruiting of young academics. These projects have been awarded multiple times from different foundations like the Robert-Bosch Foundation and the Stifterverband. For this achievement I was honoured with the order of merit of the state Rhine-Palatinate. The background of my commitment in teaching and education is the strong belief that excellent research and development on a continuing basis is just possible if you take care on the education of young excellent academics.
